AGM 2014 – first call
We announced at the last AGM that took place in Leicester that this year’s event will take place on 7th December in the South West. The location is part of our policy to move the AGM around the country to ensure all of our members have a chance to attend.
As usual all are invited, non-members as well, although only registered members will be entitled to vote.
We have chosen the Holiday Inn in Gloucester because of its ease of access from the motorway system, less than 2 miles from junction 11a of the M5 and a very simple journey from junction 15 of the M4 via Cirencester, about 25 minutes.
If any of you would like to make a weekend of it the Holiday Inn is offering delegates discounted rates from £65.00 per night bed and breakfast. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel and you must mention at the time of booking that you are a NAWCP Delegate. Cancellation is possible up to the day before. Normal room rates are from £79 non refundable on cancellation.

As with the Leicester AGM please let us know by 24th November 2014 if you are coming and how many are accompanying you so we can organise enough tea and biscuits.

- Matters Arising.
- Chairman’s Report.

Proposals from NAWCP members for additional items for the agenda with appropriate explanatory details should be sent by e-mail or letter, to reach the Secretary by Friday 24 October 2014. This will give us time to evaluate and research the item and decide which to add to the agenda. Needless to say emergency items from members present at the AGM can be included under Any Other Business.
If you are attending please let us know by 24th November. If you are unable to attend and wish the minutes to include your apology for absence please let us know also by 24th November

Cheltenham Christmas Market will take place from 4 to 20 December 2014 along ‘The Promenade’ and is well worth a visit after the AGM, or the day before if you come for the weekend. The market is home to many International traders and a range of great Christmas entertainment, which will include a fully licensed German glühwein bar, traditional French crepes and German Bratwurst stands. For further information about the Christmas Market, contact email@example.com or visit www.cheltenhamchristmasmarket.co.uk.
Jet Age Museum is located just 3 miles from the Holiday Inn on the way to Cheltenham and will be open from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free with donations welcomed. The museum is dedicated to the preservation of Gloucestershire’s rich aviation heritage and tells the story of the machines and people who put Gloucestershire at the cutting edge of aerospace technology. The museum has a cafe and a small shop. Well worth a visit. Gloucester Cathedral and Tewkesbury Abbey are both well worth a visit at Christmas time, or indeed, any time of year. Both offer free admission but welcome donations. Both have cafe/restaurants and gift shops.
The New Motorway Service Station Farm Shop on the M5 between junctions 11a and 12 run by the Westmorland Family of businesses offering homemade cakes and pies and locally sourced delicacies, with no fast-food chains. The service area is currently just on the northbound carriageway but southbound facilities are in the making. This service area is considered a paradise for foodies! Well worth a visit just before Christmas.
The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway (GWR) is situated at Toddington (with a connection to Cheltenham), just a few miles East of Tewkesbury. GWR offers as nostalgic return to the age of steam trains and all that went with them. Well worth a visit but do check before visiting for any changes to opening times or special events during the Christmas period. www.gwsr.com
